What made renting such a good deal for my wallet and my closet was that I could mix fun items I already had from fast fashion outlets or thrift shopping with higher-end designer brands, based off trends, styles, colors, etc. This was one of my favorites. This cotton-candy colored top from Viva Aviva went perfectly with these bright pink ruffled pants I bought for less than $10 on sale from Forever 21, forever ago. Note how the ‘tail’ of the top creates some nice vertical symmetry with the pants, creating the illusion that it’s a dress rather than a top and pants. It was a gorgeous day out in Taipei with my family, and when the sunset had pink/purple hues over Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall matching with my top, we stopped for some pics:
