Orange is yellow’s oft-forgotten younger sibling. But not any less important, beautiful or show-stopping… It’s bright, it’s bold, and it’s also perfect for summer. Some people THINK they might not be able to pull it off, but oftentimes those people are wrong. Orange is so bright, in fact, that it’s good for all skin tones. Some light yellows might wash a pale person out, but never orange. Bright orange, burnt orange, you name it. All fair game!

To support my argument in favor of orange, I’ve included two of my favorite rented looks ever. First up is a Beyonce-esque, Lemonade-era maxi dress from AMUR. The off-shoulder gown is all in the details – the ruffles up and down the sides, the flowing sleeves, the incredible drapery of the dress… All of it combined to create a stunning gown that makes every street you walk on your personal runway (see photo evidence above!!!). Some might argue that it is a dark, dark, dark burnt yellow. But I have no time to argue with those people today. Let me have this one for today, for orange’s sake.

Bottom left is an orange multitiered and high-low dress from Halston. The way it’s constructed goes without saying here. Being multitiered and a high-low dress allows it to sashay like no other, and it’s flattering for all body types too. I love the tiny, tiny pleats in the dress, which enhance the movement and the energy. This one is unapologetically orange – unique, loud and impossible to ignore.
