So amid all the chaos and color of most of my outfits, I occasionally love to rock a monochrome look (still with a twist and some fun prints, patterns or embellishments of course). I’ve always been a big fan of yellow; I think it’s so underrated and it’s perfect for summer.

This dress was reminiscent of old ballroom gowns and it was so much fun to wear for the summer. As with many strapless gowns the material was really sturdy and flattering for the figure; the belt applied to the dress enhances that corset waist even further. Definitely a Marchesa classic!

AMUR strikes again with this ruffled yellow maxi dress. Unfortunately like many maxi dresses, it runs a little long on me, and that made it hard to get the blowing-in-the-wind pics with the dress without the risk of tripping over myself and breaking a leg. The material was truly beautiful though and achieves such a lightweight look… but don’t be fooled, the dress was still quite heavy! The cutouts on and ruffles along the sides were a really nice touch.

This is one of the first and only Black Hole outfits I rented but it definitely won’t be the last. I loved how this romper looked simultaneously cute and chic; while I wore it with sneakers during my travels in Taiwan and South Korea, it easily could’ve paired with a leather jacket and heels for a night out on the town. Unlike many rompers, it’s made of good material and designed in a way where it tucks in tightly at the waist, so it won’t end up looking like a maternity dress. The hourglass figure was so strong with this one that many people at first glance thought it was a minidress.

I ended up renting this dress last minute because everything else I wanted to rent for my trip to LA was taken, but it was a perfect summery choice that ended up going well with the other items I rented! (Jean jacket with embroidery on the back is courtesy of Rag and Bone.) I went in December, but it’s always sunny in LA right? The bow and tiered skirt gave the dress a really cute vibe that I found suitable for the amusement park rides and boardwalk at Santa Monica Pier. Together with the Taylor Swift heart-shaped sunglasses gifted to me by a friend… it was a perfect LA outfit.

I loved this romper so much I almost bought it even after renting it! It was so light and easy to wear that it was perfect for blistering hot days – as much as I love dressing up sometimes, it’s hard in the summers when all you really want to do is wear a tank top and shorts. The casual but chic tiered romper had adjustable straps and literally moved with me as I walked, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a fashionable and flattering, but still comfortable, summer outfit. And, I’m a sucker for a fun fruit pattern.

This maxi dress is really a classic floral pattern you can’t go wrong with, but the beauty is in the details. The slight leg slit, which is pretty covered up here in my photos, the ruffles all down the front of the dress, and the off-shoulder sleeves – which you could hike up onto your shoulders, too – all made this a standout summer item that I really wanted to have. I paired it with light pink floral earrings and a fedora hat for an afternoon in Tulsa and walk in the park with my mom.
